Parker originally belonged to a family that we were friendly with at the time. Because they liked our dogs so much they decided to get a Springer Spaniel of their own. Unfortunately they really didn’t understand what the commitment was when you own a hunting dog breed, and life while raising three kids got in the way of this dog’s success. He spent most of the first two years of his life locked in a crate and ignored. When they started talking about having the dog euthanized, Lee-Ann and I took him in. He ended up not being with us for very long. He really didn’t get along with our other dogs and he tried to bite Lee-Ann once. We placed Parker with a super nice guy from Putnam County NY who ended up hunting Parker for many years. Parker did very well as the only dog in the home, and he turned into a very good bird dog and family pet. That made us happy.
